Visualising the spindle before fertilisation
Meiotic spindle visualization in living human oocytes (eggs) before fertilization. This method is used to increase the probability of egg fertilization after ICSI / PICSI method. The egg, like any other cell, has a structure called a spindle. This structure is responsible for correct division of a genetic material after fertilization. It has been shown that the presence of a detectable and undamaged meiotic spindle inside the oocyte is an indicator of oocyte quality, such as fertilization and developmental ability. A computer-assisted polarization microscopy system is required to visualize and analyse the meiotic spindle of oocytes.
This method is especially suitable for patients with repeated IVF failures and for patients with low ovarian reserve (risk of gaining a low number of eggs in IVF).
We offer this method as one of the few clinics in the Czech Republic.
